A little Winter Fun!

Quilling is an art form that involves using tiny strips of paper that are rolled, shaped and glued together to create decorative designs.

Here is a video on how to make a quilled snowflake!

Great video on making a pinch pot

I found this great video on making a Pinch Pot. The man has excellent premade/dry examples of the steps. I'm loving this for first grade (or any grade!) as a preview before we begin making our Japanese Tea Bowls.

A little Practice Video

I'm taking a "Technology for Art Teachers" class with the wonderful Dana Munson over at River Wood High School. One of the many cool things she has taught us (in addition to how to create this glorious blog) is how to take video with our Avermedia document cameras, and then edit that video in Windows Movie Maker.
(A special thank you to Jessica Booth, Fulton county art coordinator for making sure we have the document cameras in the first place!)

Third Grade Color Theory Books

In our "Technology for Art Teachers" class we're learning how to add features to our blog. This one is a practice in adding a link to a Google Doc. An excellent resource! I believe in the future I will have a Lesson Plans tab to facilitate easier sharing with coworkers and better communication with parents.

Past Student Work

This is a link to my web album of past student work.

However, because of assistance of the fabulous Dana Munson, I have also learned how to embed my video below. Oh the joy of of not needing to click to view!
